A newspaper office at the address given in the title, 915-20 Street Northwest, is the subject of this glass negative. The National Photo Company, a commercial firm that photographed Washington streets and buildings for sale in the early twentieth century, likely made it around 1919 or 1920. The title comes from data the company wrote on the negative or its sleeve and has not been independently verified, though negatives in the same range share that date. Streaks and blemishes on the glass come from natural breakdown of the original coating, and they give the image a mottled, faded texture.
