Few views on this board show the canning line itself, and this stereograph shows workers labeling cans of Veribest products at one of Armour's packing plants. Veribest was an Armour brand, and the scene reflects how Chicago meatpacking firms had grown into large-scale food processing operations by the early 1900s. Issued as a stereo card around 1909 and copyrighted by Kelley & Chadwick, the picture was meant to be viewed through a stereoscope, which gave the packing floor a sense of depth.
