The northwest corner of Park Place and Broadway sat at a busy junction in Lower Manhattan, where the wide avenue met the street running east toward City Hall Park. The photoprint dates to about 1910, when the blocks around Broadway were changing quickly, and the Woolworth Building, completed in 1913, would rise on the same stretch of Broadway. Irving Underhill of New York made the copyrighted image, and its catalog number suggests it was issued as a commercial city view. The date and caption details come from an unverified card, so treat them as provisional.
