Across the fore deck of the S.S. Olympic, this view shows the liner tied up at a New York Harbor dock around 1911. The Olympic had entered service for the White Star Line that June and was among the largest passenger ships afloat, a sister ship to the Titanic, which would be lost in 1912. The photoprint was copyrighted by William H. Rau, a Philadelphia photographer known for his images of ocean liners and waterfront scenes. The date and details come from an old caption card and have not been independently verified.
