The title, *The wedding march*, is printed on a stereo card: two nearly identical photographs side by side that merge into a single three-dimensional scene when viewed through a hand stereoscope. The card was published around 1907 by the Sterro-Photo Co. of Dolgeville, New York, and carries a copyright notice in the name of C.A. Richmond. Stereographs like this were a mass-market parlor entertainment in the years before movies and radio, sold in large numbers across the country. Wedding scenes were a favorite subject for their sentimental appeal and their familiarity to viewers who had attended ceremonies themselves.
