Herbert Bayer, the Austrian-born designer trained at the Bauhaus, made this 1957 color poster to recruit members for the National Ski Association. Bayer had settled in the United States in 1938 and became known for clean, geometric graphic work that brought modernist design into American advertising and public campaigns.
