Slalom gates, the pairs of flags racers must pass through in order, give this Colorado winter poster its name. Produced by the Colorado Winter Sports Committee in Denver and dated about 1957, it belongs to a postwar period when skiing was turning into a mass recreation and the state was courting visitors to its mountain resorts. Printed in color halftone, it is a useful record of how the state marketed its winter sports to a national audience in the late 1950s.
