A stock poster announcing a lecture by Mary Church Terrell, first president of the National Association of Colored Women, shows her portrait in profile facing right. Terrell (1863–1954) was an educator, suffragist and civil rights leader who helped found the association in 1896, and she was a frequent public speaker on voting rights, education and racial justice. Posters like this one were printed to draw audiences to a single talk. The record gives no date, but the design reflects the era when Terrell was a prominent national voice.
