This print looks north up Broadway from the upper windows of the Western Union Telegraph Building, a view that placed the viewer high above the busy avenue. Currier & Ives, the New York firm known for inexpensive lithographs of American life, issued the image in 1875, the year the telegraph company's headquarters was completed.
