Ford's cabriolet, a convertible with a folding top and a closed body, was one of the models Ford pushed in the late 1920s and early 1930s, when the company was moving from the Model T to the Model A and then the V-8. This color halftone advertisement dates from that stretch, between 1927 and 1934, and reflects how automakers used bright, polished color illustrations in magazines to make open cars look fashionable and affordable. The print comes from the Wittemann Collection, a group of commercial art that documents how American advertising presented everyday consumer goods during the period.
