A crowded Naples street makes up this photochrom print, one of the views of Italian sites that the publisher issued as numbered series in the 1890s. Photochrom was a Swiss color process that combined a black-and-white photograph with several lithographic stones, each inked in a different hue, which gave the finished prints a vivid, almost painted look.
