Its slogan, "Follow the bands," points to the open-air recruiting meetings held across London in 1915, where marching music drew crowds toward speakers urging men to enlist. The poster was issued by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee, set up that year to encourage voluntary enlistment before conscription began in 1916. Printed in color by Roberts & Leete of London, it shows how wartime propaganda used music and public spectacle to fill the ranks.
