Jacqueline Kennedy's televised tour of the White House, filmed in February 1962 and broadcast that same month, is the subject of this Associated Press photograph, dated January 15, 1962. The First Lady appeared on camera to guide viewers through the executive mansion's rooms, a rare move for a sitting first lady at the time and one that drew a large national audience. The picture shows the public face of that effort, with the White House as both setting and subject. It comes from the New York World-Telegram and the Sun collection at the Library of Congress.
