A silkscreen poster for the Federal theater Project's production of *Trojan Incident*, adapted from Homer and Euripides, brings the Trojan War story to New York stages in the late 1930s. The Federal theater was one of the arts projects of the Works Progress Administration, created in 1935 to employ actors, designers and stagehands during the Depression. Its posters were printed in bold, flat colors meant to catch the eye on busy city streets. A date stamp on the back of this copy reads September 2, 1938.
