Here a towering figure representing a trust gazes down at a small government, and the title, "The Trust Giant's Point of View," makes the mockery plain. The drawing, by Horace Taylor, was reproduced from the magazine *Verdict* in January 1900 across two facing pages. Its caption card links it to the oil industry and the presidency. Cartoons like this were common then, when large combinations such as Standard Oil drew fierce public debate over whether government could check them. The artist makes the argument largely through scale alone.
