Children dance in a city street while an organ grinder turns his hurdy-gurdy, a familiar sound in New York neighborhoods during the 1920s. Glenn O. Coleman drew the stone for this lithograph in 1928, and he was then known for portraying crowded urban life with a realist eye. The print is signed on the stone and in pencil and numbered 26 of an edition of 50. Its back bears stamps from the Downtown Gallery, a New York dealer that championed American modern artists, dated 1932 and 1935.
