Its title, "Awaiting the minister," frames the moment before the ceremony begins, when a wedding party stands ready for the officiant. The card was published around 1907 by the Sterro-Photo Co. of Dolgeville, New York, and carries a copyright notice in the name of C.A. Richmond. Stereograph cards like this were sold for use in hand-held parlor viewers, which gave home audiences a three-dimensional scene. Posed domestic and wedding tableaux were a popular subject in the early 1900s.
