Rumania's Day" is a British wartime lithograph whose caption stages a dialogue between "the two forces," with the Kaiser addressing Romania. Romania joined the Entente in August 1916, but Central Powers armies overran much of the country within months, and in May 1918 Germany imposed the Treaty of Bucharest on the defeated kingdom. The poster was issued in London by the Central Committee for National Patriotic Organisations, which produced propaganda to rally public support for the war. Its cartoon approach, with the Kaiser speaking directly to a smaller national figure, shows how Allied artists used Romania's fate to contrast German ambition with the alliance's cause.
