Set in the Paul Revere House in Boston's North End, this view shows a room furnished with a chest, a table and a set of chairs. The house dates to around 1680, making it one of the oldest surviving buildings in downtown Boston, and Revere lived there with his family during the years surrounding the American Revolution. Rooms like this one are furnished to suggest how a colonial household worked and gathered, though the pieces are period-style furnishings rather than a full record of the family's belongings. The house is now part of Boston National Historical Park.
