The Forestry Building, misspelled "Forrestry" on this card, shares the view with a large globe, both seen from Point Passay on the grounds of the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris. The subject headings also link the picture to the Eiffel Tower, which rose above the fairgrounds and drew visitors from around the world. Stereographs like this one, issued by the Greater New York Stereoscopic Company in Chicago around 1901, were made to be viewed through a stereoscope, letting people revisit distant sights at home. The card's number, No. 1008B, marks it as one entry in a numbered series.
