This wood engraving shows the A.M.E. Zion Church at the corner of West Tenth Street and Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village, a neighborhood that in the 1860s mixed residential rows, shops, and churches. The African Methodist Episcopal Zion denomination was founded in New York City in the early 19th century, so a congregation of this name in the city carried that history with it. The print was engraved by Fasel after a drawing by W. McCracken, a method that let illustrated publications reproduce city scenes for a wide readership. The catalog card's details are old and unverified, so the exact date and attribution are best treated as provisional.
