The caption on this glass negative rubbed away before it reached the Library, so the title "Baseball" was supplied later by staff. Herbert A. French gave the negative in 1947, and it belongs to the National Photo Company Collection, a Washington, D.C. studio that documented scenes from the years around 1909 to 1919. Streaks and blemishes on the glass come from natural deterioration of the original coatings, which is worth noticing when viewing the image.
