This poster carries the slogan "Safety for you for all," and its sponsor listing is the Federal Music Project, one of the four arts units of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) that employed artists and performers during the Depression. Silkscreen posters like this one came out of the WPA's poster workshops in the mid-1930s, where designers turned out inexpensive public notices on everything from health to community events. A handwritten date of October 13, 1936, on the back suggests when the poster was received or filed. Safety campaigns were a common theme of the period, as public agencies and employers sought to reduce accidents in workplaces and on the road.
