Ambassador Daeschner and his family, along with a young woman named Miss Beatrise Henderson, are the subjects of this picture, which the title dates to May 20, 1925. That caption came from the National Photo Company and has not been independently verified. The image survives as a glass negative, the kind of plate the company's Washington studio used for portraits and documentary views in the 1910s and 1920s. Streaks and small blemishes across the surface come from the natural breakdown of the original coatings, so they are part of the object's physical history. The collection came to the Library of Congress as a gift from Herbert A. French in 1947.
