Two men in formal dress pose at a newly opened embassy in this glass negative from January 25, 1925, which sets it apart from the many portraits of officials in the company's files. The National Photo Company worked as a news photography firm in Washington, producing large numbers of pictures of diplomats, politicians and public buildings for newspapers of the day. The title names the men as Signor Augusto Rosso and Ambassador Caetani, but the company's own notes describe that information as unverified. The glass shows streaks and blemishes from the natural breakdown of its original coating.
