A map of the fronts, with the battles where Irish regiments drew notice marked on it, makes this poster unusual among wartime recruiting appeals. Its headline claims that 100,000 men in Ireland were still eligible to enlist, and its wording asks men at home to answer the call from those already fighting overseas. Printed in Dublin in 1915, it was issued during the early years of the war, when Irish recruitment was driven by John Redmond's support for the British war effort and by regiments such as the 10th (Irish) Division, which fought at Gallipoli and in France and Flanders.
