The initials TM appear on this chromolithograph of the Great Falls of the Snake River in Idaho Territory, which Prang's American Chromos published around 1876. Louis Prang & Co. of Boston built a large business in color reproductions of American scenery, and the firm's copyright notice marks this as part of its popular landscape series. Idaho was still remote and little known to most Americans at the time, so prints like this gave eastern viewers a way to see the far West's dramatic scenery without making the journey.
