Massed colors" is the caption's phrase for a block of flags carried together at the head of a procession. The initials K.T. most likely refer to the Knights Templar, whose fraternal parades drew large crowds in American cities in the early 1900s. The record gives no date or location, so the exact occasion is unknown. The negative comes from the Bain News Service, a New York agency that sold news photographs to newspapers, so it was likely made to be published quickly as current events.
