From the Canadian shore near Table Rock, this view puts the viewer at the edge of the Horseshoe Falls, where a rock ledge jutted over the water and drew visitors for generations. Table Rock was a famous lookout until a large section of it fell in 1850, after which the vantage point was rebuilt and tourism along the gorge continued to grow. The record gives no date for this print, and its shelflist card bears the name Wentworth, though those details are unverified. Views from this side of the river were widely reproduced in the nineteenth century, letting travelers see the cataract without making the trip.
