Caldwell, New Jersey, is where Stephen Grover Cleveland was born on March 18, 1837, in a Presbyterian parsonage where his father served as minister. The family moved to upstate New York within a few years, so the town is tied to him mainly through his birth. Cleveland later served as the 22nd and 24th president, the only one to hold two nonconsecutive terms. The Bain News Service, a press photography agency, made this glass negative, but its title comes from unverified caption data, so the exact site shown deserves checking.
