Tucked onto North Square in Boston's North End stands the house where Paul Revere grew up, one of the oldest surviving wood-frame dwellings in the city, dating to about 1680. Revere, the silversmith who rode out on the night of April 18, 1775, to warn of approaching British troops, spent his youth in the building, and it later became a landmark that drew visitors interested in his story. The caption card gives no date for this halftone print, but the process was widely used for newspapers and books from the late 1800s into the 1900s, so it was likely made for reproduction in print.
