The title gives this falls a height of 115 feet, and this stereograph, No. 442 in the 1871 *Scenery of the Yellowstone* series, shows the river plunging over the edge of its canyon. William Henry Jackson made it in 1871 during the Hayden Geological Survey, whose expedition documented the region's geology and scenery. Its paired images, viewed through a stereoscope, gave viewers a sense of depth and helped build public interest that led Congress to establish Yellowstone as the first national park in 1872.
