The main gallery of the Albright Art Gallery, pictured here, sits inside the Greek Revival-style building that opened in Buffalo's Delaware Park in 1905, funded largely by the merchant and collector John J. Albright. The walls are hung floor to ceiling with paintings, a crowded arrangement typical of early twentieth-century museum display. The image is a large glass dry plate negative made by the Detroit Publishing Company, a firm known for its views of American cities, landscapes and interiors in the years before 1915.
