The caption ties this glass negative to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1925 and names someone called Aldridge, though the Library of Congress flags that name as unverified Bain News Service data. The Pirates won the World Series that autumn over the Washington Senators, and they played at Forbes Field, which had opened in 1909. Bain News Service sold photographs to newspapers, so this picture reflects how sports images reached readers in the 1920s.
