Carson Bigbee, a Pittsburgh outfielder, is the player named in this 1925 glass negative, the same season the Pirates went on to win the World Series over the Washington Senators. The Bain News Service, a New York photo agency, produced many sports portraits like this for newspaper use, and its handwritten caption cards are the source of the title here. The record does not confirm the date or the identification, so treat both as the working attribution. Glass negatives of this size were a common format for quick portraits in the 1920s.
