The Italian title "Finalmente!!," meaning "At last!!," sets this color lithograph apart from the other war images on the board and hints at the relief that came with the end of a long ordeal. Its subject tags place it on the Italian front, where Italian and Allied forces fought Austro-Hungarian armies until the armistice of late 1918. The artist is known only by the monogram LM, so the maker is not identified here. Color lithography was a cheap, effective medium for mass wartime messages, and this copy's earlier ownership by a German collection shows how such posters traveled between countries.
