Few pictures on this board name a specific Cleveland address as directly as this one, which promotes the Cedar-Central Apartments at 2202 East 30th Street and argues for them through a scene of children playing outdoors. The 1936 silkscreen was produced under the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration, and it advertised low-rent housing that federal programs were then building to replace crowded, unsanitary tenements. Its slogan speaks to parents, presenting the new complex as a healthier place to raise a family. A date stamp on the back reads July 20, 1940, which suggests the poster was still in circulation several years after it was printed.
