Dated May 1, 1925, this glass negative shows delegates gathered for a convention of the A.A.A., though the record does not give the full name of the organization or the meeting place. The National Photo Company, a Washington, D.C., studio known for its large body of news and documentary pictures, made the exposure on a 4 by 5 inch plate, a size common in commercial photography of the period. The collection reached the Library of Congress as a gift from Herbert A. French in 1947. Viewers may notice streaks and blemishes on the glass, which come from natural deterioration of the original coating.
