A May 7, 1921, gathering at the Col. Club is the subject here, recorded on a glass negative whose title and date come from notes the National Photo Company wrote on the negative or its sleeve, so they remain unverified. The company's plates from this era document public and social life during the early twentieth century, and this one entered the Library's holdings as a 1947 gift from Herbert A. French. Look closely at the surface for streaks and blemishes, which stem from natural deterioration of the original coating rather than anything in the scene.
