The title names the White Star liner *Adriatic*, which sets this negative apart from the other steamboat views on this board. Launched in 1906 and in service from 1907, the ship worked the Liverpool to New York route for nearly three decades and was a familiar sight in the harbor. The glass negative comes from the Bain News Service, a New York photo agency. The record gives no date, and the title is unverified, so the exact sailing shown is uncertain.
