Little is recorded about the vessel in this glass negative beyond its title, SANTA ANNA, which the Bain News Service supplied and which has not been verified. It shows a ship under sail, a sight that grew rarer in the early twentieth century as steam took over most commercial and passenger routes. The Bain News Service, a New York picture agency, produced large numbers of negatives like this one for newspapers, so the image reflects the quick, journalistic work of its era. Treat the name as provisional.
