Cadets in dress uniform gather for a dress parade, a formal ceremony in which students in a military-style school assembled in full kit for inspection and marching. The title ties the scene to Wenonah, presumably the academy whose cadet corps is shown, and fixes the date at 1915. Such parades were a regular feature of American military academies in the early twentieth century, where they taught discipline, precision drill and school pride, and where they were often attended by families and townspeople. The photograph preserves a record of that routine, including the uniforms and the formation of the ranks.
