A factory warehouse in Brooklyn is the subject here, rendered by Berenice Abbott, the photographer best known for documenting New York's streets and buildings during the 1930s. Her work for the Federal Art Project's *Changing New York* survey aimed to record a city in transition, when older commercial structures were giving way to new construction. The catalog note suggests this print was made much later, around 1976, from earlier negative material, a common practice with Abbott's archive. Its late-date printing makes it worth comparing with the original period record of the city's industrial landscape.
