The Cresson and Prichett families are named in this March 1844 half-plate daguerreotype, which shows three seated women in front and two men and a boy standing behind them before a framed picture or mirror. The velvet lining of the case is embossed with the name W. & F. Langenheim, the Philadelphia studio of the brothers William and Frederick Langenheim, who worked from the city's Exchange building. A daguerreotype is a single image on silvered copper, so this plate is the only surviving record of the arrangement, and its case, decorated with flowers and butterflies, was restored in 1943.
