The home of a Mrs. Wilson in Chevy Chase, a streetcar suburb that straddles the District of Columbia and Maryland line, is the subject here. The National Photo Company, a Washington studio that documented the city's buildings and streets in the early twentieth century, made the glass negative, which is dated to about 1925 from negatives in the same range. The title rests on unverified notes written on the negative sleeve, so the owner's identity is provisional. Streaks and blemishes from the aging of the original coating are visible across the plate.
