The National Photo Company labeled this 1924 glass negative "Blue," with Detroit as the setting, though that title is unverified and the record offers few other details about the scene. The company worked across the United States in the 1910s and 1920s, producing large numbers of plates of streets, buildings and daily life for commercial and publication use. This plate came to the Library of Congress as a 1947 gift from Herbert A. French. Some streaks and blemishes are visible because the original coating has deteriorated naturally over time.
