W.M. O'Donnell and his family are pictured in a vehicle the title calls a "bungalow auto," in Detroit on February 1, 1926. The National Photo Company, a commercial studio based in Washington, D.C., made the image on glass, a format it used widely in the 1920s. The title comes from information the company wrote on the negative or its sleeve and has not been independently verified. The streaks and blemishes visible on the glass are typical of coatings that deteriorate naturally over time.
