The lead detail here is the caption, "He has deceived me mama!!! With a woman named Fifi!", which promises a melodramatic plot twist in a play titled *Mlle. Fifi from Paris*. The piece was adapted from the French by Joseph R. Grismer and Leo Ditrichstein and presented by the producing partnership of William A. Brady and Florenz Ziegfeld, who were then building their reputations on Broadway. The Strobridge Litho Co., a Cincinnati and New York firm known for bold theatrical posters of the period, printed the color lithograph in 1899. The poster notes a run of 100 nights at the Manhattan theater in New York.
