This glass negative records two women, Viola LaLonde and Eliz. Van Tuyl, with a date of June 13, 1922, supplied by the National Photo Company on the negative sleeve and not independently verified. The company worked out of Washington, D.C., producing portraits and news pictures in the early twentieth century, and its negatives reached the Library of Congress as a gift from Herbert A. French in 1947. Streaks and blemishes across the plate may be visible, a result of natural deterioration in the original coating on the glass.
