Few theater posters of the period put an author's name as prominently as this one, which makes Charles Hale Hoyt (1859–1900) the figure to note first. Hoyt built his reputation on lively, topical farces that drew large audiences across the country, and by 1899 his name alone helped sell a touring production. The sheet was printed in Cincinnati by the U.S. Printing Co., with the Russell-Morgan Print credited, and it names William H. Currie as director and Harry Phillips as manager.
